Why Get Lessons?
The first and most essential step on your way to becoming a safe and successful
kite boarder is having lessons.
At Choice we are very concerned at the number
of inexperienced dangerous kite surfers currently using our waters, most of this
stems from a lack of, or poor quality instruction. At Choice all of our
instructors have IKO approved instructing licenses, plus at least 3 years kite
boarding experience ensuring that you will be getting the best possible advice
that is needed in order to safely progress into this amazing sport.

Where do i
start?
From
completely no experience to starting to ride on a board you are looking at 3
lessons. It is essential that you take at least one introductory lesson. These
lessons run for 2hrs and cost $160.OO each. Unlike other schools we believe that
to learn efficiently the group size of the lesson must be kept to a minimum, so
lessons will be conducted either one-on-one or in pairs. This guaranties that
you will get the time and attention you need and gives you greater value for
money. For lessons with family or friends of up to 4 people please contact the
store in advance to gain from special discounts or offers available.
Should I buy a small training kite?

Choice
kitesurfing supplies and sells *Slingshot B2 Trainer kites* for $169rp. Trainer
kites are useful to have with you for use when the winds not quite what you
expected it to be or if you’d like to practice certain tricks on the beach
before getting onto the water.
All
our instructors would agree! Trainer kites are an invaluable part of their kit
for personal or instruction uses.
IKO
instructor Mark Richardson. “Students taught by myself who have used their own
trainer kites prior to lessons Surpass theirs and my own expectations during
the lessons and always end up leaving the lessons totally satisfied on their
abilities and ready for the next task of progressing on their own out on the
water.”
What do i
need to supply?
What you need to supply is a
towel and a dry change of clothes if your lesson involves water time (Lessons 1
& 2), a pair of Sunglasses, perhaps a hat for sun protection and some
water. If you are going in the water, bring a pair of board shorts and rash vest
or a wetsuit if you have one (don't worry if you don't have one, a T-shirt will
suffice or we sell top quality spring and steamers as well as rashies and neo
tops in our shop. If you are redeeming a gift certificate or setup lesson
voucher, you must bring
the voucher or certificate along to take advantage of the service. No
voucher - NO FUN!.
Please note that at the start of the season
and towards the end, the water and wind can be cold, depending on the
day. We usually recommend a wetsuit or thermal rashie if you are going in
the water. We do not supply these items as part of the lesson, although
we can offer to sell you either a new wetsuit or Thermal Rashie if you don't
have your own.
Please
refrain from bringing valuables to the location. If you value it! Leave it at
home! Our instructors have a safe location on site to store mobiles if you feel
you need to have it with you!.
